July Ornament Swap

I am very happy to say that I am participating in my 1st swap ever!  Sooo, sooo very excited about this whole event.  Gives us sewers a chance to show off our skills:)  I have already started on my ornament and I am learning a new technique as I go.  So far so good.  Can't say to much more because I don't want to give anything away to my partner if she decides to come by and check out my blog;)

Good night to ya'll and have a blessed coming week.

Chance to win on Sew Mama Sew

  • How did you select colors for your personal thread collection?  Whatever project I am working on that is the color I will choose to purchase
  • Do you always match the color perfectly to your project?  for the most part yes
  • Do you ever use contrasting thread?  I am trying this method out more and more.
  • Do you use the same color in the bobbin as the upper thread?  Yes always
  • What if a fabric has big areas of very different colors?I pick out the one that pops the most to me.
  • Do you have any tips or suggestions about choosing thread?  Make sure you are using the right thread for the correct project:)
  • Can you show us a picture(s) of your thread collection?  unfortunately not now
  • Do you ever buy thread because you fall in love with the color (without a particular project in mind)?  not really, but I have been eying up the two toned thread for some time now
  • Do you “invest” in thread? no--need to!
  • What types of thread do you have? (elastic, quilting, all-purpose, wool, etc.)  all purpose and quilting

lights,camera,action

Woooweee my hands fingers are so happy that I am done with this one!  A curved needle would have been MUCH better, but I had what I had.  (DMC thread is now my friend as well.  Love this stuff and can't wait to try it out on some embroidery soon.)  Some kind of  quilting adhesive probably would have taken the ripples away as well, but I am too cheap for that stuff.

This and that, this and that, altogether it was a learning experience and one that I will leave to others-ha:)

I DO really like it and now I have some more light shed on my work with some "ME" thrown into the lighting.

Good things come to those who wait:)  Time to rest my fingers and hit DISNEY!!!!!!!  See ya'll next week!!!
